Reduction of shipping through the port of Kaliningrad in 2012
In 2012 sea shipping through the port of Kaliningrad, compared with 2011, decreased by 8.6% to 3.313 million tons.
Transportation of export cargoes decreased by 19% to 2.042 million tons, including ferrous metals - by 17.5% to 1.072 million tons, coke and coal - by 17.4% to 140,800 tonnes. The only exception was the export of cargoes in containers, which increased by 2.7% to 99,300 tons.
Import transportation by sea in 2012 increased by 15.5% to 1.263 million tons, including cargoes in containers - by 15.4% to 578,100 tons, bulk cargoes - 2.7 times to 72,100 tons, dry bulk cargoes - by 11.7% to 543,100 tons. Decrease was recorded only for transportation of imported general cargoes - by 12.1% to 69,800 tons.
